This photo was taken at a birthday party in November, but we keep forgetting to share it. This is Simon in his finest form. The poor soul!

Chatterbox
Isaac's vocabulary is growing by the minute. We love hearing the stuff he comes out with! Here are some highlights from the last few days.
Jane: "Isaac, can I have kiss?"
Isaac: "Not right now, Mama." (this response has also been given in reply to a request for sharing a toy with Simon, or an offer to come to the table for a meal)
Jane: "How is your yogurt, Isaac?"
Isaac: "It's good. It's gorgeous."
Isaac: "Guess what?"
Josh: "What?"
Isaac: "Guess what?"
Josh: "What?"
Isaac"I want to tell you something." (sounds more like 'some-pin')
Josh: "Okay, what?"
Isaac: "Just something. I want to tell you something"
Josh: "What do you want to tell me."
Isaac: "Something"
Josh: "Is that all you wanted to say?"
Isaac: "Yeah. (...) Hey Dad? Guess what?"
Jane: "Look at the Christmas tree. Aren't the lights cool?"
Isaac: "They no cool, Mama. They nice."
Isaac: "Let's go to a party, Mama."
Jane: "Whose party are we going to go to?"
Isaac: "Baby Jesus party!"
...well, he does have a birthday coming up!

PJ Night
On Friday night, The Halfords came over for some kiddie Christmas fun. Ben and Penny arrived in their festive pyjamas, and Isaac and Simon were wearing the same.
Of course, we couldn't get a photo with all 4 kids looking at the camera...
First, we decorated cookies. (Some may have just eaten the toppings and dipped their fingers in the icing)
Yum!
Simon passed out early, but Isaac, Penny, and Ben snuggled up for a Christmas movie.
And Ben thought the movie was hilarious!
Ben and Penny brought their parents too, but apparently we only snapped pics of the kids.

Playroom Christmas Tree
Our kids are artists. Look what they made (with a little help)! Jane cut triangles from green paper, and Isaac stuck them on the wall (with a little guidance from Josh). Then Isaac and Simon coloured on white paper, and Jane cut out circles to serve as ornaments. With Josh's help again, Isaac stuck them on the tree. The tree stump, skirt, and gifts were added later...and voila! A tree in the playroom.
Weekend in Norfolk
Last weekend, we went down to MA to visit the Henry's and celebrate Kate's 2nd Birthday. It was great to be there for the birthday festivities, and so close to Christmas. Jane and Martha did some power-shopping, and we got to help decorate the tree.

Just Play with Friends
On Monday, we met up with the Halfords and had our first trip to Just Play. All the kids had fun and were pretty tuckered out by the time we went home.
Ben and Isaac, dancing it up
Penny, joining the dancing boys
Isaac and Ben - who will go through the steam roller first?!
Ben actually went through about 10 times more than Isaac, but Jane did happen to get a photo of Isaac one of the few times he slid through.
Isaac and Penny, climbing in the tunnelsIsaac, chasing Ben. This was either just before or just after yelling: "I make Ben happy!" at the top of his lungs.
How cute are these two?!
Party Aftermath
After the party, the boys and the kitchen floor were already filthy...so we just let them have an indoor picnic for supper.
Isaac, trying to put a bow on the birthday boy's head
Trying to get a photo of Simon with all the food that was donated for the North End Food Bank. We had such generous guests!
Steve and Sarah didn't make it to the party, but they were able to stop by and play before bedtime.
Simon's 1st Birthday!
We hosted a robot-themed party for Simon's first birthday. It was a very busy day, but lots of fun too. Isaac, in typical fashion, was ridiculously social. Simon, in typical fashion, clung to Jane or hung out in front of the window. :)

Simon and Grammie LoganIsaac was playing in the robot cut-outs for days before the party, but suddenly got a little shy to the idea once we had company.
"Oh, you guys want me to get back there with you?"
Of course, none of the kids are actually looking at the camera.
Just Another Day
Simon turned one-year old this past Sunday!
His birthday began like many other days, with a pillow fort in the family room.

Why We Are Slackers
Simon is more mobile by the day. He has just recently figured out how to walk with the push hippo. (Another thanks to Jeff and Shannon for a great hand-me-down!)
"I a good cookie"
Jane and Isaac made oatmeal raisin cookies yesterday while Simon was napping. Isaac was excited to be her only assistant, because it meant actually helping! He watched them in the oven for a long time...
Then he must have gotten tired and decided to sit down while he waited.
Then he went to his room and came back with a book. Of course! Just like in the doctor's waiting room.
Yummy! Worth the wait!
