Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Josh's birthday was on Tuesday and the boys were so excited. They each coloured cards, and Isaac recited what he wanted Jane to write in his. It is such a great sample his vocabulary and thought-process right now, and will definitely be saved. They coloured a banner for the front door and (after playing with them inside for hours) hung some balloons on the garage.

Josh worked until nearly their bedtime this week, so they met him at the door in their PJs. Isaac sang ("Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday for you, Daddy") and Simon was all over him. We all read a few books before putting them to bed, letting the adults enjoy a nice leisurely meal. Life is good!

Here they are with their banner. It was getting a little late and Isaac wasn't staying still for the camera - but you get the idea.

Happy Birthday, Josh!

No cute captions...just some favourite pictures as of late.

Joseph's New Wheels

Isaac and Simon love their nativity set. Christmas Eve was a month ago, and they are still playing with it everyday. We've decided that we have to put it away soon, if only to see their joy when we bring it out again next Advent.

What's interesting is the blend of nativity set with the rest of their toys. At first, there were the obvious crossovers: other animal toys joined the creche scene, followed by a few other people (a firefighter being the most funny). The most modern addition however was made earlier this week, when a Lightning McQueen dinky car joined in on the play. Imagine if Joseph and Mary had these wheels instead of a donkey! Isaac has a great imagination!

A Boy of Many Talents

The other day, Jane left Isaac in the playroom while putting Simon down for his nap. She returned to find him like this...

...chef's hat on his head, guitar slung on his back, various food on plates, cups with saucers set up on the table, and (removed before the picture was taken) tongs (the ones seen in his hands) on his head like earphones. This kid is a total crackup!

Love My Logan Boys!

Jane here. Let's be frank...I'm the blogger 99.9% of the time. I feel the need to announce that I am the typist today, because I'm about to gush.

The following pictures are of the 3 most amazing guys in the world.

Brothers and buds, snuggled up to watch Robert Munsch read some of their favourite stories. A current fave!

Josh, ever patient, reading "Where the Wild Things are" for the seventh time that day.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have these wonderful guys in my life and in my home. Everyday brings a whole slew of blessings and laughs and memories.

Snow Day

We got buried in snow this weekend! The snow let up and the wind calmed down for a couple hours this morning, so we took the boys out to play.

Simon loved riding in the sled. As soon as Josh would stop pulling him, he'd start bouncing as if saying "Giddy'up!"

After some practice with Uncle Joe, Sam, and Uncle Tom on Christmas Eve, Isaac wanted to build our own snowman.
Here's Isaac, checking out his masterpiece

Tub Time!

Isaac and Simon love to play in the bath together. It is nearly impossible to bathe them separately any more, because whoever is not in the bath will stand beside the tub and try to climb in. :)

Splashing and laughing!

How cute is this pair?!

Here's a snippit of what tub time is like...

Happy New Year!

On New Year's Day, we had our annual brunch at Nan and Pop's house. It was a smaller crowd than the last few years, but a really great time.

Here are Isaac and Simon, toasting with orange juice while we toast with mimosa. Isn't that mini-stemware just the perfect for such an occasion?

Isaac, with a firm grasp on his glass, enjoying every last drop!Yum!!
For dessert, we had a chocolate fondue. Definitely their first time, but it won't be their last. They both loved it! Look at Simon cheering in the background...

We also took the boys to visit their Great-Nana that day. They loved playing with her puzzles!
Happy New Year to you! May the Lord bless you all with much health and happiness in 2010!

Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas was a busy one! We had dinner on Christmas Eve with Josh's parents, and then stopped in at Jane's parents house to wish Pop a happy birthday. Unfortunately, the transition wasn't that smooth - we hit a deer on our way from one house to the other. From the moment it happened, we tried to under-react for Isaac's sake. We pulled over ahead so he couldn't see it, we spoke in calm voices, and we spelled some of our conversation. (ie: "Is it d-e-a-d yet?") All our efforts didn't make a lick of difference. Isaac's head was hanging low, and he eventually asked "Is the deer all gone, Mama?" Jane said: "Yes, he is gone." Then Isaac repeated several times over: "Oh no, Mama. The deer is gone. He gone. He all gone." Talk about heart-breaking! But, luckily, only our vehicle was hurt. We were fortunate!

Christmas morning, we went to mass. Isaac was excited to check out the life-sized nativity scene at the front of the church. We came home and opened presents together before having Josh's parents over for lunch. After lunch, we headed to Jane's parents' house to do our annual stocking exchange and have Christmas dinner. That evening, Jane came down with the flu. Talk about a busy Christmas!

Now, to recap in pictures!

Here are a few pictures from Josh's parents' visit on Christmas day:

And Josh's fave picture to date...
We forgot to bring our camera to Jane's parents' house for those festivities, but we will share when we get copies from everyone else.
