Happy Halloween!

Here are a few pics of our cowboy.

We were disappointed to find out that they put up a new chain-link fence surrounding the stables at Rockwood Park. We were hoping to get the horses and corral in our picture, instead of the 'inner-city' look we got below.

This is the only horse we could get close to...

We settled for just taking a few pictures in our yard.
We have to give a huge shout-out to Isaac's Nan for sewing his costume. Jane went over to her house with a bunch of ideas and a bags of odds and sods, and they came up with this great costume! The vest was a hideous purse from Frenchy's in its past life. If only we had thought to take a 'before picture' of it, because you never would have thought it could turn into something so cute!

Fall Fun

Josh was off work today, so we decided to take some time this afternoon to head to the park and get some autumn pictures of the little guy. Remember this bench from last year? What a difference a year makes!

Finally looking at Mama for a picture

"Enough pics, Mama!"
Isn't that the most adorable little coat? Thanks to Lindsay and Paul who gave it to Isaac last Christmas. The little squirt finally fits into it!

Colouring!

We picked up a big roll of brown shipping paper a while back and planned to have Isaac decorate it to wrap Christmas presents. Yesterday, Jane and Isaac tried colouring for the first time using these. We would definitely recommend them for young artists, even though Isaac wasn't terribly interested in them yesterday. Maybe next time!

(FYI: Those markers are less-expensive in stores than listed online. Also, we just got them on the clearance rack at Shoppers Drug Mart for $1.60 for three. Check there first!)

Isaac, checking out the new markers

Most of the scribbles were made when Jane held Isaac's hand to show him the ropes.

He was more interested in hiding the markers under the paper...

...and hiding them under the table.

Look at his mischievous expression! He probably knew that hiding the markers under the table meant that he would get ink all over his shirt. Jane didn't think of that until they were done. Luckily, Crayolas are washable. :)

2 Cuties Named Max

This is a wierd comparison, but when Isaac made this expression it made Jane think about the dog from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. We can't find a great picture of him online, but do you see a slight similarity? Maybe we are just being festive a little early... :)

Turns out, that dog's name is Max...which is prompting us to give a little shout-out to Isaac's pal Max Muehlbauer. We can't wait to meet you in person when you come to NB at Christmas, Max! Look at this little cutie! Who wouldn't be eager to meet him?!

Just Like Pop

You may remember other times when we noted how much Isaac's mannerisms are like his Pop. First, he started crossing his ankles and rubbing his feet together when he relaxes, then he started sticking his tongue out when he concentrates. Now, Isaac has taken to walking with his hands clasped behind his back. If this picture doesn't look like a miniature version of Pop at the City Market on Saturday morning, we don't know what would!

Isaac and his 'Peeps'

Isaac has recently become obsessed with looking at photographs of people. We put a few non-fragile frames in low places for him, and this has become his new favourite spot to sit. Some people he calls by name and others he just points and babbles to. It's so cute to watch him be 'social', even when we are home alone.

A Milestone and a Mess

We received a very exciting letter in the mail today...

Yippee! We worked hard to aggressively pay it down, and are so pleased that it is now out of our monthly budget.

And while Jane turned her back on Isaac to take the above photo, he made the below mess. That's the contents of her wallet and some of the contents of the diaper bag strewn around. That boy is fast!

A Weekend of Celebration

This weekend, we went to Massachusetts to join Mary and Bob (Isaac's great aunt and uncle) as they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Martha, Rob, and their families planned a great party that was enjoyed by all who came from near and far. What a happy reason to get together with friends and family!

Here is the crowd gathered as Mary and Bob renewed their wedding vows.

Fun with cousins (we love how Kate is peeking over at Isaac in this one)

Jack, Isaac, and Claire meet and discuss the day's events

We've never seen Isaac hug another child before, but he and Claire hugged about 30 times this weekend! They grinned and laughed every time, and sometimes toppled to the floor.

Fun with a New Toy

We had seen this toy in stores and it reminded us of the fun bouncy toys at the playground. We just couldn't justify how expensive it was for a bulky chunk of plastic, but once we saw a second-hand one for sale on Kijiji, we embraced the bulk and plastic.

Isaac, checking out his new zebra buddy.

Everything needs to be tasted, including wierd zebra antennae (who thinks this stuff up?!)
"A zebra wearing sneakers? This thing is pretty funny!"
