Feeding the Ducks

After supper tonight, Jane took the boys and some stale bread to Rockwood Park to feed the ducks. They were both SO excited! She didn't get a decent picture of the two of them together, because Simon was in a running mood and needed to have his hand held nearly the whole time.

Here's Simon, watching the ducks and about to make a break for it!
Isaac sat on the curb, exactly like he was asked. Honestly (and luckily), it's like they draw straws and decide who will be calm and who will be wild each time we go out.

There were a couple little squabbles among the ducks (and a few among the seagulls and pigeons that were hanging around too). Jane was a little nervous that the boys would be scared once they realized that the birds were fighting. Not so. Isaac jumped up from his seat on the curb and cheered: "They fighting for the bread, Mama! Yay ducks! Ducks love our bread, Mama!"

We had a total "Saint John Moment", complete with a woman cursing at her children, which caused us to cut our visit with the ducks a little short, lest our kids learn any new words. In Nan's wisdom: "It takes all kinds to make a world."

Two of a Kind

We are SO slack in posting! It's been sunny and we've been getting fresh air, working to put in a lawn, and chasing our wild wee ones.

Except looking at baby photos, we rarely notice physical similarities between Isaac and Simon - they are just such different kids! So when Jane noticed their profiles this morning, we had to snap a picture then and there. They look so much alike here!

(Pardon how dark the photo is - we were in the basement and the blinds were closed)
