Mama's Girl

Ruthie has a bit more beef than Jane did as a babe, but there is still a definite resemblance!

Sign of a Great Dad (and brother)

Isaac said to Josh, "Hey Daddy - want to wear this sticker on your head so everyone remembers that you are a great Dad?" Josh laughed, and obliged.

Then he asked Simon: "You want people to remember that you are a great brother too, right?"

A Little Pink

Our baby girl has been wearing her brothers' hand-me-down sleepers: yellow, green, white, blue. We aren't fans of anything too frilly and fussy, but we were excited to get her into something a little girly. Look how sweet she is in her own outfit?

Simon and Ruthie spent a little time just checking each other out a couple mornings ago.
Look at those sweet little profiles!

Every time she touches him, Simon asks, "She hit me?"
No dear, you are not being bullied by your week-old sister.

Then he tried to tickle her chin

Our sweet little bright-eyed girl

We had to post this picture because it made us both laugh. A friend of a friend just gave birth to a full-term baby who weighed 5lbs 2oz. We joked that Ruthie could eat her for lunch, then we unloaded this picture from the camera. ;)

Gotta Get Out!

The boys hadn't been beyond our front yard since we picked them up from Nan and Pop's
when we got out of the hospital on Tuesday. They were starting to get a little shack-wacky,
so we saddled everyone up to go to the museum yesterday.

Setting out, we had to take a picture of the first time our back seat was full-to-capacity
with carseats and kiddies.

We had a fun visit to the museum, along with our traditional stop in the atrium
for at for a Timbit and to toss a penny in the water fountain. While waiting for Josh to bring the car around, Isaac and Simon got a kick out of some sculptures near the exit. Jane figured she'd add Ruthie
to the scene too and get a totally Saint John Tourist photo.

The Big Big Brother

We are still tying to get a photo of our three kids (?!) together. Until we get lucky with that, here is some sweetness from Isaac.

Isaac was so excited to meet Ruthie, and has been so sweet and inclusive of her since we brought her home. Here he is holding her for the first time. A bigger smile isn't possible.

When he walked into the hospital room, he ran to where Josh was holding her and threw himself on her legs...

...Not unlike the first time he saw Simon:

We couldn't help but smile over the similarity of the photos!

Bring Him/Her On!

Today was our last day as a family of four.

Tomorrow morning, Jane is being induced and we will finally get to meet our new little love. Such a flood of emotions! We are so excited to be expanding our family and we can't wait to meet the new wee one. The boys are very excited that we are "going to the hospital to get the baby out", but surely they have no idea of how much their world is about to be rocked. And the big heart-breaker...Simon won't be our baby anymore!

Jane explained to the boys last night that the baby isn't going to be a baby forever, but will grow up to play with them and be their friend. She told them about when Nan and Pop had 3 kids, and then had another baby...and that baby turned out to be Uncle Tom (who they just happen to think is the coolest guy ever). Between talking about Tom once being a baby and looking at baby pictures of themselves, we think they are starting to understand a bit more about how their new brother or sister is going to grow and change and turn into a 'real' person.

And speaking of looking at pictures of Isaac & Simon as babies, here are some photos we were looking at to walk down memory lane from 2 and 3 years ago.

Isaac's last picture on the inside,

And first picture on the outside.

Simon's last picture on the inside,

And first picture on the outside...

Baby #3's last picture on the inside,

And we can't wait to post the first picture of he or she on the outside
(or moreso to have the real moment together tomorrow).

Built-in Seating

Enjoy your perch now, Simon. It will not be around for much longer! Baby Logan Version 3.0 is due today!

(And yes, Jane is wearing the same thing as the belly pictures posted the other day. At this late in the game, a uniform is made from the most comfortable clothes. HA!)

Bunking Together

We peeked in at the boys last night to discover that they had decided to sleep in the same bed. We can't help but absolutely delight in how much they love each other.

And while we were snapping pictures, Simon switched to his cerub pose.

39 weeks, 5 days, and...

...ready! Come on, baby! We're waiting for you!

(Gotta love the boys' Spiderman toothbrushes sneaking into the photo)

Cherubin'

Simon sleeps like this a lot. We call it The Cherub. When one of us checks in on the boys before we go to bed, we always report back whether he is Cherubin' or not.

And look at those lips...have you ever seen a sweeter little cherub?
