Shake your sillies out

The Dobson's gave Isaac and Simon this DVD of a Raffi concert for Christmas. Isaac had enjoyed watching (and dancing along) at their house with Chloe, and he still loves it and asks for it by name. ("Raffa! Raffa! Puh-eese!")

Here he is, shaking his sillies out.

What's your toddler reading?

We have built-in bookshelves in the loft (one thing we will really miss about this house) and Isaac plays up there a lot. It's often funny to see which of our books interests him. Today's choice? The Hobbit.

Isn't that what all toddlers are reading?

A Few Updates

Simon rolled over last week! We couldn't remember exactly when Isaac rolled over, so we looked back into the calendar of his first year. Simon rolled over exactly one day later into his life than Isaac did. They each also had a growth spurt (or at least an eating frenzy) that started one day prior. Isn't it interesting how similar their development has been so far?

Isaac's vocabulary is expanding all the time. It's so amazing to hear him get new words each day. Although he still doesn't pronounce the second syllable of some words, he has occasionally spit out entire phrases. He likes to pat Simon's back when we are burping him and the other day he exclaimed: "I hewping (helping)!" He loves to watch this video with Pop. The other day, he stood in front of Pop's computer and said: "I see it?" We just watch in wonder.

Two Boys, One Chair

Simon already seems so big for his bouncy chair.

That is, until you see Isaac try to cram himself in it.

A Tablespoon of Cheerios

Isaac generally has a small dish of dry cereal that he snacks on throughout the day, so it's no an odd occurence to find a rogue Cheerio in the livingroom. He also likes playing with a few utensils when he helps in the kitchen - usually the measuring spoons and the pastry brush. Jane got a kick out of seeing these two things combined when she found this display Isaac left on the coffee table.

Little Artist/Camper

Isaac tried his hand at colouring again the other day. He liked the markers and crayons for a few moments, but he much prefered turning the roll of paper into a tent.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

We didn't get any photos with both boys smiling or showing their cute little Saint Patrick's Day shirts, but here are a few from our attempts!

Isaac, acting crazy while Simon laughs. We think this is a sign of things to come.

Simon's red hair just makes him seem a little more Irish than the rest of us.

This is cropped from one of the many photos we take where the boys are squirming or not paying atention, but we just love their sweet little toes.

Growing Boy

Everyday, Isaac seems more and more like a 'kid'. Just look at how huge he is in Simon's chair! It seems like just yesterday that Isaac was using it.

Cooing and Smiling

Everyone loves a baby's coos, so we are sharing some from Simon. Doesn't it just make you want to squeeze him?

Conversing in Gibberish

Tim, Linnea, and Liam came to visit on Saturday afternoon. Isaac and Tim had a great chat. Too bad that we don't have any idea what they were talking about!
