Snowy Sunset

We complained about all the snow yesterday and while we still wish it were summer, we can't deny how beautiful the backyard looks. We were all playing in the loft after dinner, and this was the scene out the window. Mother Nature makes winter a tad more palatable by at least making it pretty.

Sharing is good, right?

After breakfast this morning, Jane left Isaac and Simon in the livingroom while she cleaned up the kitchen. A few moments later, Simon squacked. Not really crying, just letting everyone know that something was up. When she came into the room, Isaac was standing as far away from Simon as possible. It was pretty evident that Isaac knew why Simon was upset, but Jane didn't figure it out until she got really close...close enough to see that crumbs from Isaac's biscuit were all over Simon's pyjamas. Isaac apparently tried to feed him. She quickly checked Simon's mouth and didn't find a single crumb inside. Maybe Isaac was just offering the biscuit by putting it on Simon's chest? Wanting to share is a good thing, right? :)

This picture was snapped just after Jane brushed the crumbs off Simon's PJs. (Note the piece of biscuit in the left hand corner of the cushion) Isaac really likes holding hands with us lately, and we think it's so sweet when he holds Simon's.

Enough is Enough!

Haven't we had enough snow already this winter? Here's your yard this morning:

Look how deep it is compared to Isaac! This is just as the snow fell on our deck, and not a shoveled pile. Can you believe it? We can't play outside today or we might lose him!

Fun with Friends

Jane's friend Scott has been helping us with some crackfilling in our basement before we put our house up for sale. While he was here, we got to play with his daughters, Carly (5) and Allie (3).

Did Isaac enjoy having friends over to play? We'll let the squeals in this video speak for themselves!

Isaac and Allie took turns 'cooking'

Carly thought that Simon was the best toy we have & held him over and over again!
And Carly even let Allie hold Simon a few times!

Wee Hoodlum

We gave Isaac this hat for Christmas, but he never showed an interest in wearing it until recently. With his puffy jacket, jeans, and boots, we think he looks about 16 years old. :)

A Flashy Dresser

We just got a super box of hand-me-downs from some cousins - Thanks Jeff & Shannon! Isaac was quickly drawn to the bright colours of this jacket and swim trunks and wanted to wear them over his pyjamas.

Our Littlest Valentine

Valentine Out-takes

We took quite a few pictures before we got the one we used in the valentine card below. Here are a few of the ones that didn't make the cut.

Holding hands
Sharing a laugh
Isaac says: "That's enough. I'm outta here!"

Simon's Baptism

Simon was baptized this past Saturday and it was such a special occasion. Here are some pictures...thanks so much for taking and sharing them, Joanie!

Strong Simon

Look how freakin' strong this boy is!

"Seriously, Mama. Is this really necessary?"
"Give me a break, Mama. Enough is enough."

Playtime

Isaac loves helping in the real kitchen and playing with his play kitchen.
Here he is in action today!

Chef Isaac samples his work
And ever the renaissance man, Isaac goes from cooking to music to auto mechanics in a matter of minutes.

Java Boy

Like mother, like son? We figure that's the only explanation for Isaac's little obsession with coffee.

Here's Isaac in the playroom this morning...

And here's Isaac in the playroom after his bath last night...

Who knew that Jane's morning cuppa would have such an impact!

Superbowl Sunday Tummy Time

Check out Simon's Superbowl get-up. Tummy time showed it off well!

And Isaac wanted to see what was so great about this tummy time stuff!

I's Eyes

Something was wonkie with the camera and flash in this one, but we love that it shows just how bright blue Isaac's eyes are. (And please don't report us to Family and Community Services for letting him wear a beer ballcap around the house. HA!)

This is the life!

A lovely little boy on each knee: Does it get any better than this?

Indoor Sledding

Grampy Logan refinished Josh's old sled and gave it to Isaac for Christmas last year. It has been too cold and blustery to be using it outside lately, but Isaac has been playing with it in the living room. Isaac was in the living room while we were cleaning up breakfast the other day, and we came in to find him like this.

Don't you like a good book and a drink when you sit in your sled?
